Freeport of Riga - Turnover at the Freeport of Riga increased by 13%

Andris Ameriks, Chairman of the Board of the Freeport of Riga Authority, is satisfied that the amount of container cargos continues to grow rapidly and has a more and more significant role in operation of the Freeport of Riga, reaching 8.5% of the total amount. “Along the growth of this cargo assortment, distribution of risks changes – the more various cargos, the smaller the risk to experience notable decrease of cargo amount. I want to emphasize again – we are only a small part of global and Russian logistics system, but we must attract as many cargos as we can.

I would like to note that an agreement has been concluded with Brazilian entrepreneurs on establishment of their logistics centre in the Riga Port, which is a very important project for us.” Andris Ameriks said.
