Red Cross Provides Earthquake Preparedness Training

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Experts said an earthquake could hit Kansas City, so volunteers with the American Red Crossare training for that possibility.

Volunteers from across the country are training this week inside the St. James Methodist Church as part of theAmerican Red Cross Earthquake Response Exercise.

All week, volunteers will receive training on sheltering, feeding and providing medical aid for victims. Some people who want to help in the event of an emergency often find they can't go to the disaster area because they don't have the training.
